Identical to the Electro-Harmonix Mini Q-Tron, but housed in a compact, die-cast aluminum stompbox, the XO Micro Q-Tron is a unique type of effect in which the guitarist's playing controls the effect. The volume of the input signal, called the envelope by engineers, controls the cutoff frequency or center frequency of a swept filter. Increasing or decreasing the volume of your guitar increases or decreases the pitch of the filter. DRIVE CONTROL causes the swept filter to react more or less with your guitar. More DRIVE, the higher in frequency the filter will jump when you play a note. Q CONTROL determines peak bandwidth of the filter, more Q and the sound will narrow with an obvious peak for a dramatic effect. The XO Micro Q-Tron can be run off a 9V battery, or an external power supply capable of delivering 9VDC 100mA.
