Fender Musiclander / Arrow / Performer Red

If you are deep deep into Fender then you will get how amazing and cool this instrument is.  There are two Fender guitars that have had pointed headstocks...the three named Fender (Swinger, Musiclander & Arrow) and the Fender Performer.  The Swinger was an attempt to clear inventory and about 250 them were made using bodies from the failed Bass 5 and Musicmaster.  Obviously they are very collectable.  The Performer was a Japanese built metal guitar with a floating tremolo.  These guitars are also very collectable and their necks are especially sought after and expensive. 

This particular instrument marries the two together.  The Performer neck is definitely original and in very good condition.  The Swinger body and parts are much harder to understand.  I don't attest to their origin.  

This guitar plays and sounds great.  But right around the neck pickup, you can dig up some dead, buzzing and clunker notes.  Played with it for a little while and have not had time to go deeper.  But that area of the neck needs some addressing.

The neck has holes from a locking nut that used to be there and a ding on the tip of the headstock.  The body has been painted matte red and has a little bit of dingage.
