2008 GIBSON CUSTOM SHOP ES-330L, VG "Player Grade"Made in MemphisGreat playing, great sounding, great looking Custom Shop ES-330!The "L" refers to the neck joint at the 19th fret (as opposed to 15th), making "L" models essentially a fully hollow 335 with P90s, like later '60s 330s. There are more frets clear of the body for extended reach to the higher end of the fretboard.Like many Gibsons, it's had a headstock break repaired. The repair is solid and has been for 17+ years, though it's not the prettiest repair job ever. It's not the worst I've seen either though, and it's structurally sound, with zero discernible effect on tone or playability. Also has very small plugs and touch up where a Bigsby was installed and later removed. There's a very slight halo of sticker on the top, but only barely visible, from certain angles, if in the right lighting. Nothing obvious or that can be seen from more than a foot away. The pickguard covers most of it in any case. The stickers were recently removed and the slight remnant will likely fade entirely with time and cleanings. None of these issues are apparent from an audience, or from farther away than the player. Aside from the subtle cosmetic flaws from these repairs, it's in very good gently used condition.The only thing other thing slightly visible from the front is a tiny line where the touchup lacquer from the side of the headstock apparently got past where it was taped off when I did it. I didn’t do the repair- the prior owner did- but I did clean up/touch up their work. The break didn't completely separate the headstock. That’s the only sign of repair visible from the headstock face, and should be removable should one want to take the time to. A quick dab with a black lacquer pen carefully applied would blend it in completely. Alternately, some judicious buffing of just that spot would take the slight dab of extra nitro off. I only noticed it upon very close inspection with the guitar angled such that it caught the light enough to be visible. The photos are guitar-in-lap close up, none of this is visible from, say, an audience perspective.Aside from these small cosmetic flaws, it's a beautiful guitar that plays well and sounds wonderful. Recent level, crown and polish on the frets so it's buttery smooth. Super resonant and light. Sounds superb plugged in, but also makes a great unplugged "couch guitar". There are a few slight nicks, dings and surface scratches commensurate with a guitar that has been used, but not abused. Please peruse photos carefully. It's been gigged with. A lot. It's still pretty though, despite having been a workhorse. Includes the original Gibson CS case, in great shape aside from some scuffs and slight wear from use. Also includes, to the best of my knowledge, all the case candy it came with. The pickguard is in the case. and can be installed before shipping upon request.Great, dependable, good sounding and playing guitar ready for years of further gigging or studio use, at a significant savings compared to a mint example.
