The MC2 is essentially an AES/EBU distribution amplifier. AES/EBU ID interfaces are also available to offer conversions between the two interface standards. Using the latest conversion and PLL techniques, the MC2 processes digital audio signals aligned to AES3 and AES3 ID and reference timing signals aligned to AES11 and AES11 ID, including all common clock frequencies from 32 kHz to 192 kHz. Each interface standard offers one input, while AES/EBU can be distributed to six outputs and AES/EBU ID to two outputs.

Various operating modes allow the MC2 to be used in a wide range of applications. An input reference signal is distributed simultaneously to all outputs. During this process, a conversion between the AES/EBU and AES/EBU ID interfaces is performed automatically.

A supplied AES3 digital audio signal can be converted in real time into an AES11 digital synchronization signal and distributed via all outputs. To preserve the original AES3 signal for future use, the first output of the corresponding interface standard can be switched to transmit the original signal separately without any format change.

The AES/EBU ID interface output voltage can be switched from the standard 1V to 3V to accommodate very long cable runs.

The MC2 can be mounted in a 19" rack system using our optional rack adapters. All functions can be easily adjusted from the front panel using a simple user interface. The unit comes in a robust aluminum enclosure and complies with CE, UL, and FCC Part 15 specifications.
