The Ibanez Artist type 2617 was produced from 1975 to 1980 at the FujiGen factory in Nagano, Japan. The guitar features an ash body with an arched top and a maple neck that is connected to the body with a set neck construction.

Due to the natural finish, the figuring of the ash comes into its own. The guitar has a luxurious look due to the cream-coloured binding with abalone purfling and gold-coloured hardware. Due to the solid weight of almost 4.5 KG, the 24.75" scale and the presence of two humbuckers, a comparison with a Les Paul is quickly made, but the guitar has its own character due to its beautiful design.

This 1977 Ibanez Artist is in very goodcondition. The guitar has playwear and dings that are to be expected from an instrument of this age, but the guitar certainly looks neat. The binding has two splits in the cutaways, and the pickup ring of the neck pickup is missing a corner. The neck humbucker has been replaced, but the guitar still has the original bridge pickup.

The guitar comes with a TFOA passport in a hardshell case.
