The Fender Malibu was introduced in 1965, and remained in the brand's catalog until 1971. Fender released several acoustic guitars during this period, all with special features such as bolt-on necks that were reminiscent of that of an electric guitar.
The Malibu featured a laminated mahogany back and sides, a spruce top and a maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Due to the slim design of the neck, the guitar plays like a Stratocaster. The guitar produces a clear sound that is more than useful for all kinds of musical adventures.
This 1969 Fender Malibu is in good condition considering its respectable age of 53 years. The guitar has signs of play in the top and the back and sides that are to be expected, but the guitar is stable, plays very nice and also sounds more than fine!
