2018 Spector NS-4H2 Tiger Eye 4-String Bass (BEAD)

PLEASE NOTE:
This bass is one of the last basses signed by Stuart Spector and will be a collector's item, as Spector Basses was just recently sold to Korg USA and now all Spector USA instruments are no longer hand signed by Stuart Spector.

This is an absolutely incredible playing and sounding bass that is setup and tuned BEAD (not EADG).

I received this bass BRAND NEW directly from Spector just a couple months ago (via 3-day air shipping), and it has only been played by me in my home and is in absolute perfect condition!

New selling price is $4,698, plus shipping.

I was planning on keeping this new Spector as my main bass (and have already sent it out to a top luthier for some upgrades), but because I currently have three other new basses on order right now, unfortunately for me I have to let this bass go.

The bass came stock from the Spector factory with Aguilar Super Double pickups and Aguilar OBP-3 preamp, but since I have been using this exact same electronics combination in other basses over the last year, I decided to have it upgraded and sent the bass back to Woodstock, NY (via 3-day air shipping) to one of the best luthiers available for this kind of work - Martin Keith.

Martin Keith did the following upgrades to this bass and then sent it back to me (via 3-day air shipping):
 1. Removed pickups and preamp, and completely and professionally shielded this instrument (in both pickup cavities and rear control cavity). 
2. Installed brand new Aguilar DCB "D1 size" pickups. 
3. Installed a brand new Noll TCM 4 XM "4 band" preamp (ordered direct from the Noll factory in Germany). 
4. Filed down the brass nut slots for each string and setup the bass BEAD with brand new Spector nickel strings (gauges high to low - 65, 85, 105T, 130T). 

This bass can be easily and inexpensively converted back to EADG, if that is your preference, by simply ordering a new 4 string brass nut directly from Spector, and then having your favorite luthier replace the current nut with the new one, and having new strings installed (with a regular 4-string set).

BEAD is just an easier way to play 5-string bass (on a 4-string) and many bass players are doing this. For example Ross Valory of Journey has had his main bass setup BEAD for many years!

Also, please be aware that if you ever want to change pickups there are plenty of choices because the Aguilar Super Singles "D1 size", Super Doubles "D1 size", and the new Super Splits "D1 size" are all an exact fit for this bass!

And here's some more info about the new preamp. I changed from the Aguilar OBP-3 to the Noll TCM 4 XM because the Noll beats the Aguilar in every way possible! The Noll is quieter with less noise, has a way more usable and better sounding EQ, and has 4 EQ bands (instead of 3 bands and having to choose between either hi mid or low mid).

Controls are Master Volume (with push/pull active/passive), Blend (with center detent), stacked Hi Mid / Low Mid boost/cut, and stacked Treble / Bass boost/cut.
