About this listing
A 1971 Mustang in Competition Red has arrived. This car is from the first half of 1971, when the matching-head specification was discontinued and the model was changed to the natural-head specification. With scratches and weather checking throughout, this guitar has a cool, dignified vintage look. It features original white-button F-key tuners. The third-string peg is bent, but this does not affect playability. The pickups feature original gray bobbins and are dated 1970. The volume pot is dated to the 8th week of 1970, and while the tone pot is covered in solder, it is also a Stackpole product; since there are no signs of altered wiring, wefve determined it to be original. Although this guitar is highly authentic, one screw on the bridge and one on the control plate have been replaced. Unfortunately, the tremolo arm is missing. It comes with a non-original gig bag.
