The 2011 Gibson ES-330 '59 Reissue AA Flame with Bigsby is a hollow-body electric guitar built to replicate the specifications of the original late-1950s ES-330 models. It features a fully hollow laminated maple body with a double-cutaway design and an AA-grade flamed maple top, back, and sides. The neck is constructed from mahogany with a rounded 1959 profile and is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard carrying 22 frets and traditional dot inlays.
The guitar is equipped with two Gibson P-90 single-coil pickups mounted directly to the top, wired through a standard control layout consisting of two volume controls, two tone controls, and a three-way selector switch. Hardware includes a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece paired with a Tune-o-matic bridge, while Kluson-style tuning machines provide traditional tuning stability. The scale length measures 24.75 inches with a 12-inch fingerboard radius and a 1.6875-inch nut width.
Additional period-correct features include a single-ply binding and a black pickguard consistent with late-1950s production details. The instrument was produced in Gibson's Memphis facility and finished in a nitrocellulose lacquer, which allows the wood to resonate naturally while maintaining historically accurate construction specifications.
