Overview
While frequently confused for the two pickup Olympic Double, the original Olympic Special was similar in design to the early double cutaway Gibson Melody Maker, with an evenly symmetric body design, narrow headstock, and lone single coil pickup. The Olympic Special was updated midway through 1964 to a slightly asymmetric body shape reminiscent of Gibson's mid '60s Melody Maker. Also available with two pickups on the Olympic Special Double.
