The Rainger FX Minor Concussion Volume Dipper is a unique guitar effects pedal designed to create dynamic, rhythmically triggered volume modulation—commonly known as "sidechaining" or "ducking." Originally developed for live and studio use, it allows instruments like guitar or bass to rhythmically "pump" in time with a drum beat, particularly the kick drum.
It features a built-in microphone that you place inside a bass drum to trigger the volume dips, but it can also sync via tap tempo or CV input from a drum machine. The pedal includes controls for Depth, Release, Volume, and Mic Level, all discreetly located on the side of the unit with LED indicators. A striking 10-LED dip meter visually displays the timing and intensity of the effect in real time.
