Hohner Electra-Melodica wind synthesizer + hardcase + cables + mouth pieces (serviced)

Up for sale is a very rare Hohner Electra-Melodica with all original accessories: the hardcase with two keys to lock it, power supply with switchable voltage selector and ground lift switch, two mouth pieces, cables, and spare parts. Hohner made 500 units of the Electra-Melodica between 1966-1967.

In fact this instrument is one of the first monophonic analog synthesizers with a wind controller: a diaphragm is moved and more or less it covers a photocell, which controls the volume envelope of the sound. Six different tone colours can be set, along with a switchable bandpass filter to give the sound an I-, A- or U-staining. These filters can be altered with a continuous push button according to a ‘do-wah wau-wau’ effect. Through a 5-stop octave switch the score of the three octave keyboard can be expanded to 8 octave. There is also a vibrato effect with adjustable amplitude and frequency. And there are knobs for coarse and fine tuning.

The instrument has just been serviced in Germany by a pro tech. The service report is part of the sale as a proof of what’s been done exactly. Everything is working fine and it sounds beautiful! 

Cosmetically it will be hard to find a better example. It’s near mint with only some minor wear and tear. Please check all the photos before you purchase this package.
