Lucky last one for the year. Next run is mid January.
Once upon a time there was an incredible bass fuzz pedal made by an Australian company called Chunk Systems; the Brown Dog Fuzz. Unfortunately they haven't been in production for over a decade now and on the rare occasion they do come up for sale they aren't going cheap.
So I searched up some schematics online and came up with my own PCB design. This is my second PCB version updated with the feedback from the first run and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out.
Here's a bit of info on how to drive these guys:
Controls:
Drive - Controls the character of the fuzz/ distortion, turn it down for a fat overdriven sound. Turn it up and flip the switch to Hard mode and you're in synthy square wave heaven.
Clean - The level of the clean signal.
Fuzz - The level of the fuzz/distortion.
Gate - Controls how loud the input signal must be for the fuzz to engage. Handy for killing any background noise from the fuzz signal when you're not playing or creating more synth like tones.
Soft/Hard Switch - Softer "classic" fuzz tones on the left, way louder and more aggressive on the right.
Mid Switch - Mid/tone shift. This wasn't on the original Brown Dog, it's a mod from Madbean.
Basic Specs:
- Runs off a standard 9v negative tip pedal power supply.
- Alpha Pots.
- True bypass switching with a soft click switch.
- 3.5mm out, compatible with the Chunk Agent 00Funk link feature and my future version of it.
- Signature UV status LED with adjustable brightness via internal trimpot.
- Matte black powder coat finish with fibreglass faceplate.
- Includes a lifetime warranty.
