REDUCED TO $120O!

Rare, made in Victoria, BC, very well kept in very good condition Larrivee L-07 from 1981 with OHSC. Guitars from this era are known as the Golden Age of Larrivee guitars. There were no Larrivee logos on the headstock during this period.

The serial number is 072462, where the "07" denotes the model number during this period. This guitar is  similar if not identical to the L-09 model which came later.

The body is very good to near excellent condition. Nice straight grained booked matched high quality Sitka spruce top. Nice hand inlaid rosette. Nice bookmatched Indian rosewood back and sides. Rosewood binding. One piece mahogany neck. Ebony fretboard. Frets looked barely worn. Action is low with good straight neck angle and ample saddle to spare.

In 2001, a former owner had a luthier install a truss rod, as older L-bodies did not have a truss rod. The neck was bowed and virtually unplayable. The finger board was replaced, frets were replaced at that time and appear barely worn. The ebony fretboard is flat and smooth. Since 2001, the neck has been perfectly straight and nice to play.

The neck was reshaped to make guitar easier to play, hence a narrower nut width of 1 1/4" instead of the original 1 11/16". The former owner reportably did not like the "2x4" neck. So this is an amazing fast strummer and easy for smaller hands. The neck finish is duller from the reshaping and the finish on the top soundboard about 2-3mm is dulled where the fingerboard binding used to be.

The guitar is obviously not 100% original with the neck work, but for those not purely focused on collectability, it would make a nice playing guitar from 1981.

It's truss rod is certainly beneficial to allow for  have a truss tweaking the neck relief if required. The tuners appear to be non-original.

Comes in the original Everest archtop hardshell, includes case key and Larrivee truss rod Allen key.

I paid $1700 CDN for this guitar. The former owner paid $2000 from a consignment sale, plus easily $1000 to $2000 in neck repair. So for $1200 this is a fantastic deal for a 1981 Larrivee.
