About this listing
The Maxon PH-350 Rotary Phaser is a wonderfully deep and musical analog phaser from Maxon’s Vintage Series. What makes the PH-350 special is the way it moves. Instead of the sharper, more obvious sweep you hear from many phasers, this one has a smooth, almost vocal character with plenty of body. It uses an optical photocoupler-based phase circuit, giving the modulation a very fluid feel that works beautifully with clean guitar, overdrive, bass, and even line-level instruments. The MODE switch lets you choose between 4, 6, and 10 stages of phase shifting. The 4-stage setting is warm and classic, while the higher-stage settings become progressively deeper and more dramatic. With the 10-stage mode and stronger feedback settings, it can move into wonderfully chewy, almost flanger-like territory. The FEEDBACK control is another highlight. With the center position as the neutral point, turning it in either direction gives two distinctly different phase characters. Combined with the wide-ranging SPEED and DEPTH controls, the PH-350 can cover everything from slow vintage-style swirls and subtle movement to fast rotary textures, vibrato-like modulation, and more experimental sounds. It also features dual outputs. Output A can be used normally in mono, while using both A and B allows the phase-shifted and dry signals to be sent separately for a spacious two-amp setup. This is the kind of phaser that rewards a little time spent turning the knobs. There are a lot of genuinely useful sounds inside it, and it has a character that is quite different from the usual compact phaser pedal.A great choice for anyone looking for a smooth, versatile Japanese analog phaser with a little more personality and control.
