About this listing
An impeccable G6120 that we got in from a client, and I must say this is one of the most stable Gretsch guitars that I ever had in my hands ! The trick is the fixed rolling bridge, so you don't have to worry about changing strings and the floating bridge shifts from one place to another. The job is done by a decent luthier ! The rolling saddles are also a blessing, so using the Bigsby does not affect the tuning. Just in case that you are not familiar with these, its not a Floyd Rose for metal dive-bombs ... Think Rockabilly, 50s and 60s sounds - and you'll love it ! The Gretsch 6120 is one of the most iconic hollow-body electric guitars ever made — especially tied to rockabilly, early rock ’n’ roll, country, and roots music. A 2000-era 6120 sits in an interesting transition period: modern enough to be reliable, but still very “old Gretsch” in personality. The 6120 has a huge, resonant hollow maple body that gives it:a very open, woody acoustic charactersharp attack and “snap”lots of upper-mid chimenatural compression and twangFixed Rolling bridge, never go out of tune againPre-FenderBody : Hollow body, single cutawayBody wood : Laminated mapleBody width : 16"Body depth : Approx. 2.75"Neck : Maple set neckFingerboard : Ebony Scale length : 24.6"Nut width : ~1.6875" (43 mm)Frets : 22 medium jumboPickups : Dual Filter’Tron humbuckersControls : Master volume, individual pickup volumes, 3-way pickup selector, 3-way tone switch (“mud switch”)Bridge : FIXED (!)roller bridge on rosewood baseTailpiece : Bigsby B6/B60 vibratoTuners : Sealed Grover/Gretsch tunersFinish : Orange stain/poly finish Country of manufacture : Japan (Terada)
