About this listing
2022 Limited Run Tak Matsumoto 1955 Les Paul Goldtop Murphy Lab Aged A reissue model of a vintage 1955 Les Paul customized with two humbuckers, serving as one of Bfz guitarist Tak Matsumotofs main guitars. Specifications include a one-piece mahogany body with a two-piece maple top, a mahogany medium-C neck, BurstBucker Pro pickups, vintage-tapered CTS potentiometers, Grey Tiger capacitors, and the Murphy Lab (an artisan team that applies an aged finish to recreate the feel and playability of vintage guitars), which has even realistically reproduced the peeling paint on the back of the neck. There is a slight chip in the finish near the horn on the side of the body, but since the rest of the instrument has been aged, the details of any subsequent scratches are unclear. Judging by the wear on the frets, it appears to be in good condition with minimal signs of use. The finish is intentionally very thin, so it is expected to peel gradually over time and with use; however, this model is designed to allow you to enjoy the realistic aging that comes from both the passage of time and playing. This particular instrument features a dark-colored fingerboard with a uniform grain pattern. Weighing in at 4.03 kg, it has a satisfying heft. Both the bridge and neck pickups produce a thick, resilient sound, while the mixed sound in the center position offers a bluesy tone with a strong presence?both are excellent. While his signature long tones with distortion are superb, his bluesy cutting is also a major highlight. The Tak Matsumoto models produced to date continue to enjoy immense popularity. Consequently, prices have been rising significantly, so please take this opportunity to consider purchasing one. * We sincerely apologize, but we are unable to offer this item at any other Ishibashi Music stores or through our delivery service.
