To recreate the authentic sound of the 1962 Precision Bass, Fender has used the original combination of maple and alder tonewoods. In addition, the Fender James Jamerson ’62 Split-Coil pickup is fitted, crafted to the specifications of the pickup he used at the time. The unique look and authentic feel, meanwhile, are provided by the Heirloom Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish, which is applied to the body and the back of the neck. Designed especially for collectors and fans, the Fender James Jamerson 1962 Precision Bass 3-Colour Sunburst comes in a sturdy hardshell case, which contains a certificate of authenticity and a commemorative booklet.
