The Crane Song Avocet II is a Class-A discrete monitor controller with switching for 3 stereo analog input sources, 3 digital input sources, and 3 stereo sets of speakers via remote control and base rack unit with relay switching.
Additional features include headphone amplifier and cue path, talkback functions, mono fold-down, and monitor DIM. Level offsets for inputs and outputs are programmable on the remote, and additional base units can be added for support of up to 7.1 Surround.
New features in the Avocet II include separate, dedicated subwoofer outputs for each of the stereo speaker selections, and a newly designed D/A converter, "Quantum DAC" which uses a 32-bit capable chip.
