This early '70s, vintage Sigma GCS-6 Grand Concert is a stunning instrument, delivering a combination of high-quality sound and unrivalled playability. This guitar offers a powerful volume ceiling, with a broad dynamic range that adds depth and complexity to every note. Its tonal profile is balanced and warm, with a strong low end, a rich, resonant mid-range, and clear, ringing highs, giving it a mature, full-bodied sound that has only improved with age.
The soft V-shaped mahogany neck is another highlight, designed to feel comfortable in the hand where its fullness offers excellent support. This neck profile, along with the grand concert body shape, makes it an ideal choice for fingerstyle playing, although it also responds beautifully to a strong strumming attack. The guitar’s aesthetics have aged gracefully, with a warm patina that enhances its natural look.
The guitar features a multi-ply bound spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides, adding warmth and projection to the sound. The rosewood bridge with a thumb-screw adjustable saddle and chrome sealed tuning machines offer both stability and tuning precision. Additionally, the bound headstock with rosewood overlay and classic black beveled pickguard complete its vintage appeal.
The guitar is retrofitted with a Fishman Rare Earth Single Coil Soundhole Acoustic Pickup and comes fully set up/restrung by our in-house technician and includes an aftermarket hard case.
