Kultrumm 1566a is a microphone preamplifier based on the classic Altec 1566a. Originally created for general use, it was incorporated as a recording line on the famous Motown label where it was used in the production of great iconic soul, blues and funk records of the early 1960s.

It has a friendly sound with powerful bass and silky highs thanks to a simple design: the audio passes through an input transformer, two double triode valves, two polyester capacitors and an output transformer. This simple class A design results in pure artifact-free audio. Its power and versatility can be seen both in voices and on guitars, basses or keys.
