Nice Gibson Les Paul Studio BFG special, it's the Guitar Of The Week #25 released in 2007, only 400 of these were made in 2007 for the Guitar of the Week series.
The neck profile is the super comfy '59 Les Paul rounded.
It features Gary Moore’s choice for tone, as the raw BFG series, (but in a more conventional dress) a Burstbucker 3 humbucker in bridge and a P-90 neck pickup.
Initially this guitar was released in cBlack body/chrome hardware, with BFG electronics but I changed the chrome parts for gold Gibson ones.
I provide the originals chrome parts (Stopbar Bridge Tune-o-matic bridge set, : Black Speed Knobs, strap buttons, Green Keys tuning machines, switch ring, jack plate, P90 and Humbucker pickups polepiece screws, Humbucker cover) no pickguard.
If initially, the electronics was BFG style, with individual volume, 1 master tone, 3 way pickup selector where neck tone would normally be, and a momentary kill switch where the 3 way selector,
a luthier change it to a more conventional Les Paul versions : 2 tones (one at the place of the pickup switch selector), 2 volumes and the pickup switch selector (at the place of the kill switch selector, were it normally should be).
So, this guitar is very unique as it has the P90 Neck/Humbucker bridge with a traditional Les Paul electronic.
I installed a nice gold Goldö/Duesenberg LesTrem tremolo, mounted to the threaded collars on the Stop Tail Piece, it’s a very simple installation, no drilling or miling, just screwed tightly into the two existing threaded collar.
I installed some vintage 80’s gold Grover tuning machines and gold Schaller type straplocks
The guitar is in a nice shape, with few minor marks as you can see in the pictures. The top has a great top carve, with lots of belly. It is very pronounced, and looks great with the gloss Ebony finish.
It plays great. This 59 neck profile is one of my favorites, because of the soft shoulder, It's much better than the factory 50's profile. The P-90 is very bright and articulate. The Burstbucker 3 is nice and chunky.
