Willy Wolfrum – 1957 German Vintage Master Tier Archtop Jazz Guitar / Gitare Combo

Willy Wolfrum was one of the most well known luthiers of master tier instruments in the early days of the GDR and many collectors and players still love his highly sought after instruments today. His instrument where known to be extremly well built and with a very special and extravagant design. He often used flowers in his designs do make his guitars look even more special. Because of this mix of loud, well balanced sound, pretty design and extremly well made german craftsmanship, he is my personal favourite luthier from east germany. He only produced about 1500 Instruments total, so finding one in good condition is rare. Back in the days, not many people couldnt afford a wolfrum, since this level of craftsmanship had its price, so it was mainly a guitar played by full time musicians.

This guitar was sold over the east-german instrument shop "Meinel & Herold", who bought and sold many of wolfrums instruments.

The guitar is in really almost perfect condition with only very little wear, as you can see in the pictures. It was owned by a collector and was treated very well and with a lot of care. The tuners are in top condition, turn smoothly and hold the string tension well. It sounds really full and well and is perfect for the blues and jazz music of the 50s and 60s. The guitar plays super comfortably too because of the low action and the 100% straight neck. The guitar was also checked by a luthier. The pickup is at full function and in good condition.

About shipping:

I ship worldwide with DHL and with the DHL-shipping insurance wich goes up to 500€. I am not going to lie to you or blandish a possible transport risk like some other people do. International shipping can be dangerous and packages are sometimes treated roughly. If you however choose to have an international shipment, I will do my absolute best to protect the guitar. I have collected a lot of experience in the past on how to ship a guitar securely. I will take photos of the packaging and the exact condition of the guitar right before I ship it. You should know, that after shipping the guitar and entering the shipping number, I am not responsible for anything anymore and my job is done. But I will gladly back you up with the insurance case with said photos and exact details in the rare case anything goes wrong. The standart insurance I ship all guitars with is up to 500€. If you want a higher insurance, you can get that, just ask me first. Please note, that international shipping can sometimes take very long, on average 2 weeks for EU shipping and 1 month for intercontinental shipping, but it can take up to 3 times that time in some very rare cases.

Legal:

Taxation after UStG §25a. I usually take back everything you buy from me within 14 days after the arrival of the package. The conditions are, that everything is in the original condition I shipped it in and the shipping costs are carryed by the buyer.
