MASSIVE Holiday Sale! Marked down from $650! Ends on Dec 26th - grab it before its gone!!
Classic Vintage Recording Studio & Engineering is selling its Adcom GFA-5800 250/400W stereo XLR balanced studio monitor power amp. This unit was made in the US and sounds incredibly transparent!
I was using it as my nearfield studio monitor power amp. Great for driving speakers up to high volume levels with virtually no distortion, harshness, or listening fatigue. It's incredibly well-built and reliable - it has worked flawlessly for the many years I've used it. XLR-balanced input switchable to unbalanced RCA operation.
-Class A front-end and Class A power section up to 10 watts - switches to Class AB in the power section above 10 watts.
-250 watts into 8 ohms - 400 watts into 4 ohms.
High quality parts throughout - giant toroidal power transformer, low-noise precision-matched 1% metal film and metal oxide resistors; gold plated XLR's and new gold-plated RCA's and binding posts; power MOSFETs in high-end TO-3 package for high-reliability and easy serviceability.
Recently serviced - bias and DC offset adjusted according to manual. Of course, for the best operation of your amp, it is recommended to re-calibrate after shipping by your tech. Tested just for this auction on 11/20/2016.
User manual, service manual, and schematic available online for free.
Flaws: a few dents and scratches from when it was shipped to me. I take the time to ship properly, so you won't have that issue.
Needs a standard IEC power cord. Adcom recommends 14AWG wire. If I find my heavy-duty cable, I will include it.
This amp is heavy @ 59lbs, so take that into account when evaluating shipping costs.
No returns or refunds on used items like this - so be sure to ask all questions before purchase - I'd be happy to help! Worldwide shipping with full insurance - I've shipped high-end vintage pro audio gear to studios and individuals all over the world with no issues. Free pickup in Pensacola, FL available. Pickup must be made within 2 weeks of purchase or I will re-list item - for exceptions, contact me first.
