This highly-sought after Cort GB99 4 string Jazz Bass has everything you'd need in a Jazz-style bass guitar. Maple neck, block inlays, hipshot licensed tuners, through body stringing, Seymour Duncan 1/4 pounder pickups, Locking Jack plug and a mean finish to boot! Great condition, this bass has had over fifteen years of music pedigree in its blood and is covered in very faint surface scratches all over, including a large ding in one of the horns (as pictured), but other than that this is a fully-functional, rare to come by bass guitar that can do the business for you on stage! Grab it quick!
This is a beautiful and pretty rare now-discontinued bass, set up with a fast low action! It was made in Korea, in the same factory that Fender Jazz 24 and FMT basses are made, and plays as well as any Jazz bass that we've played. Basswood body with a poplar top giving a sweet jazz bass tone, with great sustain from the thru body stringing and quality bridge. Great balance and not too heavy. The build quality is very good, as is the finishing!
The body is basswood, with a topping of that gorgeous burl poplar. It has a sunburst-like darkening, around the edge, which all blends and goes together, rather well. The maple fretboard is bound, with block markers. It looks very nice against the body and matching headstock. Also, it is quite a slim, J-bass type neck, that is very easy to play. The action is pretty low but still feels nice and solid. The feel of this bass is light and quite fast, but there's enough there to keep it grounded and quite ballsy. The fretting is accurate and overall the bass has a smooth sound and feel to it, with a tiny bit of growl. The Cort GB99 would make an excellent gigging bass for most players, who prefer the passive, J-bass sound and feel but want something a little lighter and a little different. This bass truly has character and charisma about it!
