1993 FENDER PRECISION BASS PLUS DELUXE, Made in USA, guitar manufacture date July 1993. This is the real deal. This is the top of the line, premium quality bass manufactured by Fender in 1993. This genuine American made Fender electric bass guitar has a beautiful color and style and an unbelievable bass sound which credit is due to it having the Fender Lace Sensor Pickups. This guitar model was only made for two years so it is very rare. Was purchased new in 1993 and has been well taken care of and has always been kept in case when not in use. I purchased it about a month ago and planned on keeping it for life, but I suffer from tinnitus (constant ringing in the ears) and cannot play low frequencies any longer. I truly do not want to sell it, but health comes first. Non-smoking environment. The color is a rare Caribbean Mist. It has no visible scratches that I can find and looks brand new, especially for a 26 year old instrument. It is 100 percent original (besides the battery, which I just changed because the original one was not working due to old age). Included is the original hardshell Fender case and all of the information books and tools that came with it. The neck is straight with low action and plays like a dream. No fret wear that I can see. It weighs a light 8 lbs. on my bathroom scale. The Precision Bass Plus Deluxe is an electric bass made by Fender Musical Instruments Corporation and designed by George Blanda in 1989. It was one of the first American-made Fender basses to feature a 22-fret neck. Other features included a solid alder or ash body, a 1-piece maple neck with rosewood or maple fingerboard, adjustable Lace Sensor Precision and Jazz pickups, very high quality Schaller deluxe die-cast tuning machines, and a high mass Schaller Elite fine-tuning bridge.
The Precision Bass Plus Deluxe does not have a pick-guard. The Plus Deluxes also have active EQ, so there will be a battery as well. The jack is on the lower bout, not on the pick-guard. This is the forerunner of today's American Deluxe Precision which replaced it in the line-up in July 1995. The Plus and the Plus Deluxe shared premium Schaller manufactured hardware similar to the Elite versions that came out during the waning days of Fullerton.
Besides the missing pick-guard, the Precision Plus Deluxe has a slightly smaller body than the Plus version also. The Plus Deluxe is a really nice instrument. They used select woods on both PLUS versions too. I hardly ever see one of either version come up for sale. If you can find one in original condition you should seriously consider it as it is a playable collectible. They traditionally have exceeded the appreciation in actual value over any other Fender basses of the period.
