Up for sale is a very rare Hohner Multimonica II made in 1953. This was one of the first mass-produced analog synthesizers available on the market. On the upper manual you can play a monophonic synthesizer. With the lower manual a wind-blown reed harmonium. The circuitry is been designed by Harald Bode.
The case is made of bakelite and the shape of the instrument is beautiful futuristic! It comes in its original hardcase, incredible hard to find. A Hohner pin to wear on your clothes (while playing?) is also included in the sale.
Keep in mind that we sell it as a non-functioning unit, BUT:The Multimonica is partially working :) All keys of the upper manual are working. The presets switches and the white switches on the right for vibrato needs cleaning. I'm not sure if the presets sounds like originally meant. The differences in sound of the 6 presets are not so big. The vibrato is not working. All keys of the lower manual are working as well, but the harmonium needs attention from a pro tech. It's more than only a good cleaning of the contacts. The volume levers on the bottom are in good working condition and not broken.
Very nice vintage item for a synth collector or museum. Please check all the photos for a good impression of the condition.
It has signs of use of course like several scratches, wear and tear, at the left side of the upper keyboard a part of the bakelite is missing, some screws are missing, a part of the black plastic around the white switches at the front panel is missing (see photos).
