Geroge Metropoulos is known as the world's premier vintage M-style amp designer/builder, and the latest version of his Metro-Plex amp could quite possibly be the ultimate M-style amp available today!
At a glance the Metropoulos Metro-Plex is packed with features:
- 100 watts (4 output tubes) switchable to 50watts (2 output tubes rebiased)
- Variac - lowers operating voltage to 90v
- Boost Mode - footswitchable boost with separate gain and master controls
- Zero-loss effects loop. +4db or -10db operation
- 3-button Footswitch - channel switch, Mode switch, Boost switch
The Metro-Plex is really like four amps in one. With the newly added Mode switch you can acces tones from a '66 JTM45/100, '68 Super Lead, Modified '66 JTM45 and Modified '68 Super Lead. Not only that, you can alternate between two different modes via the footswitch. You'll can switch between:
- '66 JTM45 and '68 Super Lead
- '66 JTM45 and modded '66 JTM45
- '68 Super Lead and modded '68 Super Lead
The Metro-Plex comes equipped with seperate master volume controls for normal and boost modes.
