Kramer Classic III in two tone sunburst
In the mid 80s Kramer jumped onto the classic Strat/Tele bandwagon to fill the gap left by Fenders shuttering US production. Very few of these specimens seem to have been made and Little is known of them.
This particular example appears to date from around 1986 based on the holes in the trem block for the trem stop mechanism found on other Kramer’s of the era. Unlike others, this is the only example I’ve been able to find of a non opaque finish and the only burst.
It’s in excellent condition for a 32 year old guitar with the usual scratches you’d find on a moderately played instrument. There’s one solid scratch on the upper edge. The trem post holes have slight compression which is standard with old school Floyd’s like these, however it’s shifted minimally and the tuning is rock solid.
Frets are in great shape with plenty of meat on them for later fret dressing. The neck is maple with a nice C profile, nice and comfortable in the palm.
Pickups are what appear to be Seymour Duncan’s based on other US Kramer’s of the era all sporting them. They measure at 6.7K for the bridge and 7K for the neck.
The switch has been replaced with an identical unit and the output jack is a new switchcraft.
Although it’s not pictured, the rear plate is included. Also includes the trem arm and hard case.
This is a very uncommon item and extremely unique. If you want a Tele that rocks a little harder, this is the guitar for you.
