A beautiful instrument, this X700 was handcrafted in Fenders' Corona Custom Shop under the supervision of Master Archtop Builder Bob Benedetto.

The X700 is simply one of the tops in electric jazz guitars. The Stuart’s distinctive fast-action neck is fashioned of three pieces of selected hard maple and mahogany. The choice ebony fretboard is elegantly inlaid with deluxe two-tone abalone and mother-of-pearl position markers.

The Stuart’s full “Venetian” cutaway body is 17 ¾” inches wide and 3 ½" Inches deep and boasts the same graduated carved solid AAA spruce top as the Artist Award. Gold-plated hardware and engraved harp tailpiece add the final touches to this superb instrument.

This particular X700 was one of the first to be brought into the UK, and was on display at a trade show in the early 2000's. It does display some lacquer cracking that was present at this time, most likely being from the guitar being exposed to cold temperatures in a plane's cargo hold. There are pictures to reflect this.

We originally bought this guitar from new back in the early 2000's and are currently selling it on behalf of it's current owner who bought it from us back then. The guitar retains it's original Hardshell case. The serial number is CBB1000061.
