This is a nice old guitar made during the thirties in England UK by Emile Grimshaw. Its an acoustic archtop fitted with steel strings as it should be and is completely original. It shows a good few marks on the body and there has been a repaired crack on the side of the body but this is totally stable. The binding is complete and original - it needed a little reglueing but I had everything carried out by a luthier so it has been set up and fully checked and is actually a nice playing guitar now. Inside is the original label handsigned by Emile Grimshaw, and with a handwritten serial number - 463. The writing is faint in places but all there.
These guitars are few and far between and this is eighty-five years old, and still very playable.
