1962 Truetone by Kay N1 Archtop Electric Pancake Case Pickup Neck Reset Pro Setup Original Case

A 1960's Truetone made by Kay Speed Master Model Archtop Electric Guitar. This guitar is all original including the Soft Shell Case and its in fantastic shape. ..see pics.

Truetone Guitars were made by Kay and has some of the same models as Kay. They changed the Headstock Logo and graphics on the pickguard. Thats the only changes for a Truetone. All Kay Guitar. They were made to be sold in the Western Auto Catalogs. Thats right! Even Auto parts stores got into the 1960's Guitar Craze! Really cool guitar and case!

This model was featured in the Western Auto catalogs from 1962 thru 1968. No telling which year this one is. Its one of those years. I am calling it a 1962 just because!

All original everything and very lightly played. Check out the pics of the original brass Kay frets and nut. Beautiful Sunburst and it even has the original Pickguard and Truss Rod Cover. Dings and scratches but all superficial items...this guitar is really clean for its age!

Our Tech did a great job setting this cool guitar up. It needed a neck reset and we were happy we did it...Expensive but worth it...These are not known for great playing action back in the day... This one now has Great action that plays like a breeze. The Kay Pancake Case pickup is very strong. If you haven't experienced these before, be prepared to be impressed. A very unique Bluesy tone comes from all of these cool Pickups. Coupled with the 15 1/2 inch archtop body, this guitar sounds awesome. I played it quite awhile when we got it back from the Tech...Love the Bluesy tone of this one! Great player as well. No sore fingers with this one!

Check out the original case. Its in as nice shape as the guitar. It was missing the handle so we added a replacement. Even the accessory box is still here on this cool original Kay Case..held on by a piece of duct tape but the box lid is still with it...really nice case!

Sold as-is no returns as its vintage and used, however, I have been hand picking my customers guitars for over 18 years now and they have all loved the guitars I found for them. This cool Truetone by Kay is certainly not going to be and exception!
