Epiphone Explorer Ruby Red Metallic
When the Explorer was introduced in 1958, it was far ahead of its time. Initially, it received a lukewarm reception, but its bold design and straightforward sound eventually won over many players around the world. In the 1970s, its futuristic look was a big hit with the rock icons of that era, and it has enjoyed great popularity ever since. With the new Epiphone Explorer, you can now follow in the footsteps of these legends. It’s part of the “Inspired by Gibson” collection and was designed for players who want power, precision, and modern performance.
The Explorer features a mahogany body in the now-famous Explorer silhouette, which feels very comfortable and well-balanced in the hand and is a pleasure to play. Glued into the body is a mahogany neck with a fast-playing SlimTaper C profile. The neck is topped with an Indian laurel fingerboard featuring 22 medium-jumbo frets and simple Perloid dot inlays. The fretboard radius is 12", which ensures that notes ring out cleanly during both chord playing and bends.
The iconic Explorer headstock is adorned with a mother-of-pearl Epiphone logo inlay and equipped with high-quality Grover Mini Six-in-Line tuning machines as well as a Graph Tech nut, ensuring excellent tuning stability. The other ends of the strings run over a fully adjustable LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and are secured by a LockTone Stopbar tailpiece, which ensures excellent sustain.
The Explorer’s sound comes from a pair of Epiphone ProBucker humbucker pickups, with a ProBucker 2 mounted at the neck and a slightly sharper ProBucker 3 at the bridge. Each pickup is connected to its own volume control, allowing you to blend them in any ratio you like. A master tone control and a three-position toggle switch round out the controls. All three knobs feature high-quality CTS potentiometers.
The Epiphone Explorer is the perfect instrument for every player and every stage. It comes with a high-quality gig bag, ensuring it’s always well-protected during transport. Discover for yourself the possibilities of this legendary solid-body guitar and find out why so many rock legends rely on the Explorer.
