The PRO 37 is Audio-Technica's affordable small-diaphragm condenser: the pencil mic for acoustic guitar, drum overheads, piano, and ensembles, where a small capsule's transient speed and even off-axis response matter more than a big diaphragm's warmth. Handles high SPL, so it works on a snare or a brass section too. XLR, phantom powered; a pair makes a very capable overhead set.
