Telefunken TD 25 TS 1960S - XLR

A USABLE TELEFUNKEN LEGACY DEVICE.

Unlike most of its side-grille lookalikes, this mic actually points its capsule toward the top. The elongated side mesh is not the primary pickup area! Still, there is some off-axis response there, and as you drift away from the top axis, the TD 25 begins to roll off its highs gently — creating a natural, usable falloff.

This unique setup results in a dynamic mic that is both visually and sonically fascinating. The TD 25 delivers a pleasingly focused, mid-forward tone with just the right amount of vintage saturation. A strong performer on vocals, guitar amps, and radio-style speech.

BUILD & DESIGN

Housed in a solid metal body with a distinctive, elongated mesh section along the side, the TD 25 combines the charm of 1960s broadcast microphones with an unexpected capsule orientation. This construction can lead many to aim the mic incorrectly — but once positioned top-forward, its performance shines. A small Telefunken badge gives it a classic finish.
