Silvertone Model 1484 Twin Twelve 60-Watt 2x12 Piggyback Guitar Amp
Silvertone's 1484 Twin Twelve is a 60W 6L6-based tube amp, originally sold in a "piggyback" configuration through the Sears catalog from 1963 - 1967. Similar in sound and function to blackface Fender Bassman amps, but with additional features -- a strong, vibe-dripping tremolo and a reverb that...well...let's just say the reverb exists. At the end of the gig or session, the head tucks into the bottom of the cabinet for ease of transport. Fender Black Panel Bandmaster 40-Watt 2-Channel 2x12" Piggyback Guitar Amp 1963 - 1967
The classic Fender Bandmaster is one of Fender's most iconic early amplifiers. As was the case with most vintage Fender amps, the Bandmaster underwent a series of both cosmetic and electronic design changes through its production. Bandmaster started out as a 1 by 15-inch combo before expanding to a 3 by 10-inch combo in 1955. Later it was switched to a piggyback head-combo set with black and then white tolex. (Note: this estimate is for an intact head and cab set).

Vox AC-30 Super Twin 3-Channel 30-Watt 2x12" Piggyback Guitar Amp 1962 - 1966
The Vox AC-30 Super Twin takes the sound and functionality of the classic AC-30/6 and splits it into separate head and speaker cabinet units to isolate the amp's electronics from the vibrations of the speakers. The closed-back or "pressurized" speaker cabinet also made it a bit more suitable for bass guitars than the standard combo model.
Some time in 1965, the cosmetics of this amp changed slightly from the original brown cloth/square head box to move toward the black diamond cloth, control panel-mounted Top Boost and a funky trapezoidal head cabinet that sat atop the new tubular chrome stand. The Super Twin was also available with optional Top Boost controls for the Brilliant channel, either with those knobs eventually moving onto the control panel itself. A version with reverb, which can be found here, was also available up until the demise of JMI in 1967/1968. - 10
