The result is a bright, aggressive tone with ringing sustain and a sensitive response to pick attack — a set that rewards technique, from percussive tapping to natural harmonics. The plain E, B, and G are highly flexible steel with a corrosion-resistant brass coating; the D, A, and low E are Magnecore roundwound over the hexcore.Voiced with rock guitarists in mind, the PB109 loves distortion. The high output and boosted high frequencies drive overdriven amps, delays, and modulation effects harder than standard nickel strings, while the flexible hexcore reduces playing effort and keeps bends fluid. At .009-.042, the set delivers super-light bending feel with the aggressive top-end cut and long tonal life that have made the Power-Brights line a longstanding choice for rock and lead players.
