This particular Takamine F370-S was made in October 1977. It was the model dubbed “The Law Suit Edition” due to the fact that Takamine & Co. Purchased a Martin Guitar tool it apart to see how it was made and proceeded to duplicate it perfectly, and sold them. It mimicked the Martin D-28 (Headstock, Body Shape, and Bracing) Eventually, Martin threatened to file suit, and Takamine halted the production of it. Not sure how many were produced, but it wasn’t a lot. It has Schiller Tuners that are still great. It Features a Solid Spruce Top, Brazilian-Rosewood Back and Sides with a Mahogany neck and Rosewood fingerboard. I purchased this guitar because of the unique wood pattern on the back which looks like “two men with beards looking at each other.” It comes with a Guild Hardshell Case and the Nuts are loosened five times each for shipping.
