About this listing
Collectors Alert !This is an INCREDIBLE bass, that was personnally owned and played by ZZ Top's Dusty Hill in several shows (at 2013 Montreux Festival -La Grange and Tush- and at Freddie King's 2012 Hall of Fame induction -Going Down-, for example). I purchased it at Juliens Auction two years ago. It comes with its goodies from Fender's Custom Shop, as well as the OHSC. This is one one the very few that came with the whole package at Auction. Customized Serial Number on backplate : DH-BK-1 ! First one of a 3 units batch, all 3 sent to Dusty Hill. Serial number on one COA : 2860. The other doc from Fender's Custom Shop, numbered 158, is coming from another DH bass, a blond one, that was displayed somewhere back in 2012 ; it just doesn't match with this bass. Original Julien's Auctions listing said "2012 Fender Custom Shop Dusty Hill Signature Model Precision bass, serial number: DH-BK-1, in black relic finish, reverse headstock, Babicz bridge, in original case. Dusty played this bass during ZZ Top's July 10, 2013 performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, which was later released on DVD. Dusty also played this bass at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2012 when ZZ Top inducted Freddie King. ZZ Top performed "Going Down" with Joe Bonamassa and Derek Trucks, see previous lot for an image of Dusty playing this bass during this 2012 performance."This is a UNIQUE opportunity to grab a legendary bass of that "Littl' Ol' Band From Texas" !The original bill from Julien's will come along with the Bass, as well as Julien's tags. Some of the pics are taken direct from the Auction's listing.
