About this listing
ESP LTD XJ-1 Baritone HT in Silver Blast
The XJ-1 Baritone HT is a purpose-built extended-range instrument that balances deep, resonant low-end with responsive articulation across all registers. Its thin U-profile neck and offset body geometry make it comfortable to play even in extreme tunings, while the modern electronics deliver focused, cutting tone regardless of drop tuning or gain structure. This is a workhorse baritone designed for players who need tuning stability and tonal definition in heavy, alternative, and experimental contexts.
Playability & Build Quality
The 27" baritone scale combined with a 3-piece rooted maple neck and Macassar ebony fingerboard creates a fast, stable platform across extended tunings. 22 XJ stainless steel extra-jumbo frets, a 350mm fingerboard radius, and a 42mm black bone nut ensure consistent action and durability, while LTD locking tuners and a Hipshot bridge with string-thru design lock in tuning even under extreme tension.
Tone & Electronics
The Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker with ceramic magnets provides three distinct voices selectable via a push/pull volume control, allowing quick tonal shaping without additional knob clutter. This active pickup system delivers articulate, focused output that maintains clarity across both clean and heavily driven contexts, cutting through dense mixes with definition.
