Potent Pairings: How To Sound Like The Beatles on Guitar, Part II

Disclaimer:Our Potent Pairing series aims to get you in the ballpark of the sounds on your favorite recordings using affordable, accessible pedals. The pedals featured are not the exact pieces of gear used on the recordings. Let's be real — the Fab Four didn't use any of these pedals. Some of the effects were studio production tricks. But they're still fun to try and nail down.

Whenever we post one of our Potent Pairings videos on our YouTube channel, we invariably see tons of comments making requests as to what band we should cover next. Ever since we posted our first treatment of the tones of The Beatles late last year, we've seen more calls for a part two than anything else.

Well, Beatlemaniacs, the wait is over.

In the above video, we're diving back into The Beatles' discography and attempting to replicate tones from classic tracks like "She Said, She Said," "Something," and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." The Beatles, of course, didn't use pedalboards, and just as in part one, the guitar sounds we're examining often came down to a particular combination of amps, consoles, and other studio tricks from the '60s.

For more info on all of the pedals used in this video, take a look at the diagrams below. Click on any of the pedal graphics you see for more information on that particular pedal.
