This 1996 Gibson J-200 Elvis Presley "The King of Rock" Legend Series is a highly collectible, limited-edition acoustic guitar built to replicate the custom ebony Gibson Super Jumbo favored by Elvis Presley. Painstakingly handcrafted at the Gibson acoustic facility in Bozeman, Montana, only 250 units were ever produced worldwide in full cooperation with Graceland and Elvis Presley Enterprises.

Historical Background
Elvis Presley originally used a standard sunburst J-200 in the 1950s. In 1960, after returning from his service in the U.S. Army, he sent the guitar back to Gibson for a complete overhaul to repair heavy buckle rash on the back. He requested his name inlaid in mother-of-pearl along the fretboard, and Gibson added their own custom flair, creating a unique look. The 1996 Legend Series serves as a high-fidelity tribute to that iconic era of Elvis’s performance history, matching the exact lines and ostentatious cosmetic details of the modified instrument
