Excellent Condition KMS 150 in matte black with original wood case.
Used twice for choir vocal soloist on a stand, never hand held by talent.
Photographs are exactly what you get.
This microphone was discontinued for the simplified and more cost efficient KMS 104/105 but the demand for these mics makes them almost impossible to find.
• Vocalist microphone: hypercardioid directionality
• Pressure gradient transducer
• Capsule acoustically decoupled
• Extremely insensitive to "pop" noises
• Natural reproduction of sibilants and "S" sounds
• Transformerless circuitry
• Switchable low frequency roll off and 10dB preattenuation
Features
This is the ideal vocalist microphone. The grille design significantly reduces pop and sibilance, and the internal shock mounting reduces handling noise. The true hypercardioid Neumann KMS 150 has a roll-off switch to reduce proximity effect. With the attenuation switch activated, the maximum SPL is an impressive 152dB.
The KMS series is ruggedly constructed to handle the rigor of stage performance. Tight polar control over the entire frequency range significantly reduces sensitivity to acoustic feedback.
The Evolution to the KMS 150
Recognizing the unparalleled clarity and feedback resistance of the KM 100 series, Neumann adapted these studio-grade components into a rugged, handheld chassis built specifically for live stage performances.
- The KMS 150 permanently combined the KM 100 output stage with the AK 50 capsule to deliver pristine, studio-quality vocal reproduction in front of loud live bands
- In 1988, Neumann revolutionized small-diaphragm recording with the KM 100 series, a modular system that allowed users to swap out different condenser capsules onto a single transformerless output stage.
- The Capsule: Within this series was the AK 50, a pressure gradient transducer featuring a tightly focused hypercardioid polar pattern. It provided excellent off-axis rejection and isolation
