1987 Charvel Jackson Model 1 Neck
The Model 1 may have been Charvel’s entry-level guitar, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t get the same love and attention to detail as even their most premium offerings. With beautiful birdseye figuring, a pointy headstock, and that classic Charvel neck profile, it really doesn’t get much better.
It’s in great condition overall with only a few small impressions. There was a locking nut installed at one point which has since been removed; the holes were plugged and the shelf touched up with paint. Visually, it’s not perfect, but structurally, it’s solid and still feels smooth to the touch. One of the plugs makes slight contact with the truss rod nut, but it still turns freely in both directions. It’s seen a lot of play and would benefit from basic fretwork. You might encounter some buzzing and fretting out in the upper register when setup with low action, but it remains very playable with no dead spots.
It’ll mate with any Jackson/Charvel body designed for 22 frets, a 25.5” scale length, and a 2 1/4” heel.
