Original “Brown Willow” wrap 

Incredible condition, some signs of use, wear, and age – very clean and they look / play great. Nearly all original down to the tension rods and most of the original Yamaha made heads. The wrap is in great shape and shows lots of depth and lustre. Very little oxidation on the chrome hardware. Original wood hoops with matching inlay in good shape. All drums have matching serial number 1606

Snare and toms all have their functioning mufflers (bd didn’t come with a muffler)

No extra holes, edges are good. Heads easily mount and all drums tune up / play great.

These drums are not MIJ stencil kits made of firewood. Unlike Tama / Star or Pearl, Yamaha was making quality drums from day 1. These are high quality birch shells using the same Air Seal System Yamaha uses today.

They are birch shells and are kind of like a cross between Gretsch and Camco drums with a Gretsch like silver sealer interior and Camco like slightly undersized shells (1/4 vs standard 1/8) which through the tympanic effect results in a more resonant sound.
