I have received this Easterman 815 in trade on a guitar I sold recently
I am primarily a mandolin player, and mostly play early 1920’s F5’s.
This experience sets me up to understand tone and what works in a mandolin and what doesn’t. I can say that I was very surprised by the quality of this mandolin and how it sounds.
Hand carved Adirondack top with solid flamed maple back and sides are the key here.
This is the top model Eastman makes and I can understand how they have come to dominate this segment of the market.
I have rated this mandolin as mint because I don’t believe it’s ever been used. Everything is as new.
Case includes unpackaged truss rod wrench and unused strap for shoulder carry.
If you’re looking for an F5 in this price point, there’s not a cleaner or better one available.
All specs are in the photos.
