Vintage/Antique “First National Institute of Violin” one piece back with Bow and case, 23 ¾” overall length, 1920’s – 1930’s. These violins were made contractually for around small number of schools based out of South Bend, Indiana. The company was started by Max and Daisy Stryker, and operated in the 1920’s and1930’s. They were one of the first in the country to bring the idea of group lessons to music. You can find old newspaper advertisement for Allied Arts music lessons all over the country. Though the company was founded in Indiana, they branched out and created music schools all over - as far away as California. They went out of business in the 1930’s. Their violin concentration was called “First National Institute of Violin” and they bought instruments made by Jackson-Guldan Violin out of Columbus, OH
