Serial # C26401 is a beautiful Heritage Golden Eagle archtop from the second year of production in the old Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In near-mint original condition, this 17" beauty has a carved spruce top, a carved book-matched curly maple back, and a hand-carved 5-piece curly maple neck. It is fitted with a single floating humbucking pickup with volume control mounted on the curly maple pickguard. Key dimensions are 16.75" body width, 1-11/16th" neck width at the nut, and 25.4" scale length. Premium woods are used throughout, and the fretboard has been recently PLEKed for optimum playability. It comes complete with its original hard case and all case candy, and is a joy to play in all respects. Heritage does not make the Golden Eagle at present and has no plans to do so. In many ways this instrument is very similar to a Gibson L-5C and was hand-crafted by former Gibson employees who formed the Heritage company after Gibson relocated to Nashville, Tennessee. Please note that this is one of the first Golden Eagles to be created at 225 Parsons Street by the original founders - it is No. 7! Labels are signed by the 4 principals of Heritage plus an extra case label with the names of the artist who built this guitar. A complete package and an exceptional Heritage Golden Eagle from the first year of production.
