Very RARE Gretsch 6x14' FFS 2x4 brass & maple snare drum.
Model S-0614-FMB. This drum's 6x14 size makes it even more desirable!!
I bought this drum new in 2005 to add to my snare collection and only played it a few times in my drum room. It is as close to mint condition as possible but since it has been modified, I have to list it as "excellent". I did replace the original batter head with a new Evans HD, upgraded the snare wires to PureSound Custom Pro and added plastic washers to the tension rods (see pics).
This 10 lug snare tips the scales at 13 lbs., has die-cast hoops, medium-high volume and a wide tuning range. I found the sweet spot to be just above medium tension. I would put this snare up to any of my "go-to" drums in my collection all day; this is one beautiful and versatile snare drum!
