This was just serviced by Olaf Prinz, in Germany. It was cleaned, the ribbon was checked (and in good condition), the cable shortened to 1,5 meters and a new Neutrik XLR installed.
It's an early 4104 from STC, from the 50s. The sound is strong and equally nice from the front and the back, so no real need to remove the lip apparatus, as the back sounds just as nice. It's a much sturdier ribbon design than usual, as these were made for broadcast and to be weather proof. A very nice, vintage tone.
A vintage carrying case is also included, although it doesn't appear to be original from STC. It does have a custom "bed" for the microphone and fits perfectly.
